If you’re looking for a fun but long-term 3D printing project, these 3D models by reddadsteve are the answer! We came across reddadsteve’s work when we were looking for a 3D model of Cheshire, the crazy cat from Alice in Wonderland. To our amazement, Cheshire was very well detailed and is accompanied by not one but four more models from the Alice in Wonderland animation film! The figurines are made up of all separate parts and pieces that are easy to print. Most of them can be printed without support, which makes the slice and print process really enjoyable.
We used our Vertex Delta for this job and printed the parts at a resolution of 0.1mm with 10% infill. No rafts, no supports.
Before you start 3D printing, we really advise you to make a list of all the different parts and their color. This way, you will have a nice overview of all the parts that need to be in the same color so you don’t have to change the filament of your printer each time you start a new piece.
When the printing part is done, all pieces assemble quite nicely into a beautiful figure. We used transparent hot glue to glue together the larger parts and transparent instant glue for the smaller, more delicate pieces. Be sure to use transparent glue at all times, you don’t want to stain the parts after all the hour of precious printing.
